WHY MEDITATE?

Maybe we are so busy & active, reasonably healthy and achieving things, yet have that nagging feeling: “…is this all there is? There must be more to life…”

Maybe we think that stress or fatigue is holding us back from achieving our full potential.

Maybe our doctor has told us our blood pressure is too high, and we don’t want to take drugs to bring it down, and she said “how about trying meditation?

Maybe we have feelings of depression, or struggle with day-to-day life because we feel inadequate, or have had some traumatic event that challenged our grip on “reality”.

Maybe we’re trying to cut down on the cigarettes and alcohol, or other drugs we can’t resist, even though we know they’re harming us.

Maybe we’re studying or under lots of pressure at work, finding it difficult to sleep or “switch off”. We want to “stop the world and get off!”

Maybe we just want to find some answers to questions like: “how did I get here?” or “what’s it all about?” or “is there a God?”

Whatever our limitations are, we’re always seeking some way of overcoming them, because it’s our nature to grow and progress. We always want more, and this natural tendency is used to advantage when we learn Vedic Meditation. Effortlessly we turn our attention inward, and dive into the transcendent, where the mind finds its ultimate fulfilment, and the body gets such deep rest that it can throw off stress & fatigue that wouldn’t be released even in deep sleep.
